Shari Wels- Manager/Certified Level 1 Trainer
Shari has been a fitness enthusiast since she was in college where she rarely missed a day of running on the treadmill or doing the stairmaster. After college she expanded her workouts to include boot camp classes, kickboxing, spinning, TRX and any and all new kinds of workouts.
Almost four years ago, she was introduced to CrossFit through friends and has never looked back. The varied workouts, welcoming community atmosphere, (especially here at 914), the intensity, true total body conditioning and the FUN was the workout she had been looking for.
After becoming the CrossFit 914 Manager, Shari obtained her Level One certification. She thoroughly enjoys working with veteran gym goers, former athletes and newbies, introducing them to what she has come to believe is an incredible fitness program that we at 914 tailor to individuals of all fitness levels.
In addition to teaching and managing at 914, Shari is also a wife, mom of two boys (all of who do CrossFit, as well) and is a practicing first-degree black belt in Goju-Ryu Karate.
Shari believes that Crossfit can help everyone achieve a new level of health and fitness and we do it at one of the best boxes in the region with a great group of fun people.
Mark Hoffman- Head Coach/Certified Level 1 Trainer
Mark grew up an athlete playing various sports and continued playing basketball throughout college. Once his playing days were finished, Mark took up running and found it provided daily exercise, but that was about it. He came into Crossfit totally raw not knowing what to expect and was hooked after his first workout. Mark soon realized Crossfit was something he needed in his life– the community, encouragement, and difficult workouts. He experienced how dedicating himself to a good diet and exercise changed every aspect of his life and he wanted to get more involved. This realization inspired him to take the Level One certification class and become an instructor.
As someone who began Crossfit with little experience, Mark understands the importance of working mobility and how Range of Motion leads to the correct technique needed to work out safely and efficiently. Crossfit has changed his life and continues to change it every day. He wants the athletes he works with to enjoy that same experience.

Ryan Funigiello – Certified Level 1 Trainer
Lisa Pavarini-Certified Level 1 Trainer, Crossfit Kids Trainer
Lisa became a CrossFit Kids instructor in October 2013, and has since been teaching the fundamentals of fitness to the next generation of crossfitters at CF914. She is also a personal trainer and Skating Instructor at Westchester Skating Academy in Elmsford, NY. She grew up playing various sports and competing – from figure skating to synchronized swimming, and basketball and volleyball in high school. She was a certified swimming instructor during college, which is where she discovered her love for teaching. A “gym-rat” her whole adult life, she struggled to see results after having two kids and recovering from surgery for a torn meniscus. She tried her first Crossfit class in April 2011 and was instantly hooked. The strong sense of community mixed with the spirit of competition made exercise fun again. And the results were amazing. “When I shifted my focus from trying to lose weight to wanting to become stronger, is when my body finally changed for the better.” She naturally began to inspire those around her, and through the principles of Crossfit — constantly varied functional movement — she discovered the key to lifelong health. After 11 years of working as a producer for CBS News in NY, sharing her great passion for CrossFit has been her most rewarding endeavor. Lisa also has Attitude Nation Level 1 Certification 2013 and NASM Personal Trainer Certification 2016.
